Iowa Food Bank Association Executive Director Linda Gorkow Announces Retirement

The Iowa Food Bank Association (IFBA) today announced that Executive Director Linda Gorkow will retire November 8, 2025 closing out a distinguished career dedicated to building partnerships, strengthening communities, and advancing hunger relief efforts across the state.

Gorkow has served as Executive Director of the Iowa Food Bank Association for the past seven years, where she played a key role in uniting Iowa’s six Feeding America food banks to fight hunger through collaboration, advocacy, and strategic partnerships. “Linda’s leadership has helped elevate the statewide conversation around food insecurity, ensuring that Iowa families in need have greater access to nutritious food and essential resources; we thank her for her service”, said Kim Guardado Iowa Food Bank Association Board Chair.

Before joining IFBA, Gorkow served as the HACAP Food Reservoir Director for nearly three years, overseeing food distribution across Eastern Iowa. Gorkow built her career through various marketing leadership roles that included Westdale Mall (1984–1989), Mercy Medical Center (2008–2014), and Tanager Place (1989–1994).

Known for her kindness, compassion, and ability to bring people together, Gorkow has always led with heart. Her caring nature has built lasting relationships and trust across communities, helping organizations not only expand their impact but also create meaningful, long-term solutions to complex challenges.
